I hope that you found the Day 10 Challenge detoxifying for you. Don’t forget to mark off your success from Day 10 on your Anxiety Challenge Tracker.
Now, let’s get started with Day 11 of learning how to manage our anxiety and panic!
DAY 11 CHALLENGE: Create A Comfort Box
How To Meet Todays Goal:
A comfort box is a box filled with items that help comfort you when you are having anxiety or panic. This box is only to be opened when you’re feeling anxious – otherwise, the box loses it’s effectiveness.
In your comfort box, you want to place at least 5 of these:
- Photo of people you love (sight)
- Photo of a place that relaxes you (sight)
- Silly putty / play-dough / fidget spinner / stress ball (for your hands) (touch)
- Your favorite scent / candle (scent)
- Your favorite body lotion (touch)
- A favorite book (sight)
- A few of your favorite candies (taste)
- A playlist of your favorite songs (sound)
Make sure to decorate the box and put it in a safe place – only to be pulled out when needed.
How It Helps Anxiety:
Sometimes, we’re going to have bad times where the anxiety comes. As we learn ways to manage our anxiety and panic, we are better equipped to make sure that anxiety’s stay is a short one. Having a comfort box is for those times when anxiety decides to visit and your comfort box will make sure that it’s stay is manageable.
Bonus Tip: Pull out your comfort box only in your sanctuary.
Wrap-Up:
Sometimes anxiety is going to come no matter what we do. Accepting that fact – and the fact that it is only temporary – and making that time comfortable – will help it pass with a quickness.
