Now, let’s get started with Day 22 of learning how to manage our anxiety and panic!

DAY 22 CHALLENGE:       Write Down 5 Things You Are Grateful For

How It Helps Anxiety:

Did you know that a regular practice of gratitude can actually help manage anxiety and panic? When we practice gratitude, we are taking the focus of what is “wrong” in our lives and in the world and putting the focus on what is right. This is a monumental shift in how we view the world and the events we are a part of. In fact,  researchers at Berkley found that if gratitude is practiced regularly it can help to rewire your brain. It takes about four weeks for the benefits of practicing gratitude kick in and at twelve weeks the full effects begin to kick in. This includes a reduction in anxiety symptoms and a general feeling of being “happier”.

How To Meet Todays Goal:

Take some time in a quiet space and really listen to your heart. Write down someone or something that you are grateful for.  Write down 5 things you are grateful for and the specific reasons why. It is extremely important that you are specific in the reasons you’ve chosen those five things or people.

Wrap-Up:

Getting into the regular practice of a gratitude journal and being specific in what you are grateful for can have a definitive effect on managing anxiety and panic.
