DAY 27 CHALLENGE:       Create A To Do List

How It Helps Anxiety:

Let’s be honest: life is stressful. As people who suffer from anxiety, the world we live in can be hyper stimulating and hurried and filled with appointments and practice and work and friends birthdays and family dinners and everything in between. It is extremely easy to get overwhelmed. Unfortunately for us, being overwhelmed can trigger anxiety and we’re not about that life.

Creating a To Do list helps to organize your life and make the overwhelming much more manageable. Even by starting small and prioritizing the three things you need to do today and then writing those three things down, you will be helping your brain realize you’ve got it all under control. Three things a day allows you to get 21 things done in a week that – lets face it – you probably wouldn’t have gotten to half of those otherwise.

Three things is manageable. As you finish one of the tasks, cross it out to give yourself a subconscious pat on the back and be happy with the knowledge that you’ve only got two more to go for the day.

How To Meet Todays Goal:

To start with, jot down 3 things you need to do today. This could be in your journal, on a post it note or on a piece of paper. As you finish each task, cross it off and move to the next one. You will be amazed at the results.

Find a way that works for you. If you want to incorporate it into your journal, go right ahead.

Wrap-Up:

Take stock of your eating habits and your diet to see what you can limit or eliminate or even add to help you manage anxiety and panic.
