Can you be too nice? Here are the drawbacks and how it can hurt your health.

Have you ever been told you’re too nice? Can you be too nice? The answer is yes and it can be seriously hurting your mental and physical health.

There are many ways that being too nice can hold you back. When you’re someone who is constantly saying “Yes”, you begin to start attracting the wrong kinds of people. Instead of attracting friends that are genuinely interested in you, you being attracting people who are spending time with you because of what you do for them.  You want people who want to be around you for you, not for what you can do for them.

When you’re too nice in a relationship, you will tend to cave into the other persons wants and needs and ignore your own. Eventually, this will not only wear you down physically and mentally, but you will begin to hold resentment towards your partner. A feeling of inequality will begin to seep in as you wonder what exactly you are getting out of the relationship. Having a simple talk with your partner about boundaries and what both of you want can clear up any misunderstandings, but you need to do that early on stop a problem from growing.

The biggest way that being too nice is negatively effecting you is that you will forget to be there for yourself. When you are constantly saying “Yes” to everyone else you are saying “No” to yourself.
